I’m doing one of the first case studies here on Colemanmg.com for all the people, and small businesses of the world. This is just to show you that it’s possible to rank any video in the search engines no matter if it’s worldwide or just locally in your community. This case study will focus on me going after a keyword phrase which is “Shreveport Marketing Firms”.

The reason for this is that I’m near this area and I felt like I could come in, and steal a little of the search traffic from it. Now this keyword doesn’t gets thousands of visitors a month because for one it’s a local keyword, and next because it’s just not that competitive. But for my first case study on CMG I feel as though going after a keyword like this that’s in my niche will be the best way to start dominating this market.

My Goals

To keep it simple and plan I’m looking to at least get the video on the first page into the top 3 spots. Now you might be asking why don’t you want to be #1 in the search engines for that term? When it comes to a YouTube video they have a thumbnail that shows up in the listing which is more eyes catching then a regular listing. This forces the searches to click the thumbnail before even clicking  #1 ranked listing.

But this is something I will be writing about more in the near future which will explain why being in the top 3 is just as good as being #1. So today it’s all about given you the latest update of the video, and where it’s at in the search engine. It’s been ten some odd days since the first update of me trying to rank a video for “Shreveport Marketing Firms” Today I’m just given you a quick overview of where the video is at in the search engine, and the number of keywords it’s ranked for. Just to let you know all I did with the video was to upload it to YouTube and bookmarked it on six highly authority website.

So as you can see above searching in Google for the main keyword spit back my video in the 6th position. Not only has it showed up as a thumb nail which is very eye catching to anyone searching for this keyword. It’s also over powering the other searches just by been a video versus just content. This is the main reason YouTube video marketing is so powerful is because the video stands out like a sore thumb.

If you input the main keyword into YouTube the video comes up #1 above a lot of videos that’s been there for a while. Know that YouTube is the second largest search engine so if you can rank higher here, and in Google then welcome to the best of both worlds.

How Did This Ranking Occur?

The only thing I did to give this video that little juice it needed to rank in it give spots is that I booked marked it. Below are the following websites I booked marked the video to given it a little boost of seo.

2. Bizsugar

3. Blogengage

4. Digg

5. Delicious

6. Reddit

These are the only places I posted the video just to give it a little love tap in the search engines. This is just the start of the process of ranking the video even higher just to see what results I will get. Now I will take it a step further by doing a little content marketing when it comes to some web 2.0 websites over the next two weeks.
