When it comes to ranking in any local market, there are many variables you must tackle. You must have a website to get some form of content on that site. Without content, there is no way to target any market and rank locally.
By saying that today I wanted to share one of my past clients who I set up just one page on their site, and pretty much allowed it to site. Now understand I did no “SEO,” and it got some amazing results in over six months of not doing any work.

Top 6 Keywords
When I talk to my clients about content, most of them seem not to understand the power of “WORDS.”
Yea…Words
Google is only around because people can type in words and find other words in the form of content. People like me are SEO people that are skilled in rank for just about anything online.
Not to get too much in my system of helping my clients, I want to say doing local research, and keyword analysis is my main goal from day one.
By saying that I created a piece of content to by not doing anything for six months, it’s now ranking for some great targeted keywords.

I wanted to go after keywords that are in the same category as this past client industry. Those keywords were chosen on purpose, knowing one day they will automatically rank.

Now just to let you know, these are only six keywords, but the content is ranked for about 50+ keywords. To focus on these will give you around almost 1k potential searches per month if you can achieve #1 rankings.

What Does This Mean?

For this client, who is the real estate industry, it’s essential to keep quality traffic coming into the website for conversion to leads. Now with these six keywords as they stand, will bring in not so much traffic because they’re listed somewhere down the page higher than the 5th position.
To be able to benefit from these targeted keywords, they must do some form of “local SEO marketing” for those terms. At this point, all I did was create a great piece of content and allowed it to sit after all this time at the suggestion of the client.

Every business is different, but if a real estate company can gain an extra 25 clients per month, it’s successful, then I don’t know what is. You must understand these are just numbers, and numbers can go up or down.
Your success online may not be the same as the next company due to competition, keyword density to the authority of your site. Just know if you can get into the top 3 positions, you may be able to dominate your local market.
